Florida Celtic Partners with Largo to Bring Soccer Programs to Belcher Road

LARGO, FL – Florida Celtic Soccer Club today announced it is partnering with the City of Largo to provide recreational and competitive soccer programs at the Belcher Road Soccer Complex moving forward.

Starting August 1st, Florida Celtic will develop and manage soccer programs at the Belcher Road Soccer Complex. The new relationship comes with great strategy and vision. Florida Celtic will expand the recreational and competitive soccer networks to a second location in Largo and fourth campus overall in Pinellas County, all within reasonable driving distance to the other campuses.

“With a heavy emphasis on establishing a robust recreational program at the Belcher Road Soccer Complex, we look forward to a partnership that will greatly benefit the families of Largo,” said Florida Celtic Recreational Director John Orr. “This relationship gives us the ability to provide the same quality programs at Belcher Road Soccer Complex that have established Florida Celtic as a truly ‘player first’ community driven soccer club, already serving over 500 Largo residents.”

“The goal of the City of Largo is that we wanted a successful recreational program with opportunities for everyone…and I absolutely wholeheartedly feel that the decision to work with Florida Celtic is going to also reach out into those areas of people that cannot afford to get on the soccer field, and that’s a very big step for those children,” shared Joan Byrne, Director of Arts, Parks and Recreation.

Florida Celtic Soccer Club, with nearly 1,500 current players, looks to advance soccer in Pinellas County to offer children ages 3-18 recreational and competitive opportunities, including soccer clinics, higher leagues and camps.

“Due to the success of our existing recreational and competitive programs, we are confident we can incorporate this second location in Largo into the Celtic family,” shared Jonathan Burns, Florida Celtic Director of Coaching. “We will utilize our branding, structure, programming and resources developed at our club to grow our organization and offer extraordinary new opportunities for players, teams and staff. Belcher Road Soccer Complex offers some of the best fields in Central Pinellas County and we look forward to expanding our footprint.”

The organization will start by offering Free Clinics for ages 3-12 at the Belcher Road Soccer Complex starting in the end of July. Age group times and details are available on www.floridaceltic.com and all players must pre-register to participate.

In addition to offering programs at Belcher Road Soccer Complex, Florida Celtic will offer Free Clinics and a Little Rascals program for players 3-4 years old at Highland and Southwest Recreational Centers as well as other locations throughout the City of Largo.

Registration is open for recreational leagues that begin in September/October for ages U6-U18, with Early Bird and Sibling discounts available. Competitive soccer program tryouts are held annually in May, however Florida Celtic offers open tryouts year round for any players interested in a one-on-one evaluation and who is not affiliated with another club.
